Town of Tonawanda
Economic development within the Town of Tonawanda is spearheaded by the Town of Tonawanda and initiatives they have undertaken. Specifically, the Town's Economic Development work is best exemplified by their community partnership, Tonawanda Tomorrow.
In addition, the Town of Tonawanda, having received a grant from New York State, is the process of planning for the "...redevelopment of various sites along the River Road, Niagara River waterfront and other industrial areas between Military Road and Sheridan Drive..." per the Tonawanda Opportunity Area website.
Village of Kenmore
While not having the large industrial base, the Village of Kenmore has a dynamic yet quaint "downtown."
In 2009, the Village was named as "One of the Top 10 Great Neighborhoods" in the United States by the American Planning Association as part of its "Great Places in America Program." Since then, Kenmore has only gotten better with solid development, infrastructure investment, and adaptive reuse of existing buildings.
